A number of candidates seeking various political seats in the August 8 polls, risk being barred from contesting over integrity queries.

This is after the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) in a confidential document to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), wants the electoral body to take action against hopefuls found liable.

In the document dated May 31, 2017, 10 sitting governors are among the 87 names of contestants, with EACC having already barred Mombasa gubernatorial hopeful Chitavi Anthony Mkala of the United Democratic Party (UDP).

Below are names of the sitting governors appearing in the document:

 Evans Kidero (Nairobi)

Alfred Mutua (Machakos)

Sospeter Ojaamong’ (Busia)

Peter Munya (Meru)

Mwangi Wa Iria (Murang’a)

Cornel Rasanga (Siaya)

Okoth Obado (Migori)

Adan Nadhif Jama (Garissa)

Godana Doyo (Isiolo)

Daniel Waithaka (Nyandarua)
