At least six MPs in Laikipia, Nyandarua and Nakuru were bundled out of the race and will not be defending their seats after the Jubilee Party primaries.​

This was in a rare tough battle that also saw former MPs come back to the light.

Here is the list of those who lost:

1. Naivasha MP John Kihagi 

He lost the ticket to former MP Jane Kihara.

Ms Kihara garnered 21,111 votes ahead of Kihagi who came third with 8,225.

He conceded defeat Thursday.

2. Molo MP Jacob Macharia 

The incumbent was trounced by Kuria Kimani.

Kimani garnered 13,092 votes while Macharia had 8,000 votes.

3. Njoro MP Joseph Kiuna 

Kiuna lost the battle to Kenya Literature Bureau board member Charity Chepkwony.

4. Laikipia East MP Mutahi Kimaru

Incumbent Mutahi Kimaru was defeated and conceded defeat through his Facebook page on Wednesday night.

5. Laikipia West MP Stephen Karani

Dr Stephen Karani was defeated by county assembly Speaker Patrick Mariru.

Mariru garnered 18,761 votes against Karani's 11,240.

6. Kinangop MP Stephen Kinyanjui

Kinyanjui was trounced by Zachary Kwenya Kinyanjui.

Kwenya garnered 19,039 against the fourth-placed incumbent's 4,639 votes.
