More than six months in office for Kisumu governor Anyang Nyong'o several projects initiated by former Governor Jack Ranguma have stalled and county taxpayers are likely to lose millions of shillings.
The projects range from village colleges, toilets, resource centers, roads, dispensaries among many others that date back to 2013/2014 financial year.
One of the stalled projects is the Sh6 million Kianja village polytechnic in Kajulu Kisumu East sub-county with two unfinished rooms that are now goat shed.

In Maseno, a Sh2m unfinished toilet is collapsing after the contractor abandoned it.
Also on the list of forgotten development projects is the Sh18.6 million Kombewa market, Sh18.2 million Pap Onditi and Korowe markets.

Almost 15 resource centers have been neglected despite the fact that millions of shillings were allocated for their completion, for instance, the Gombe Kokula resource center in West Kisumu ward which had a budget of Sh6 million in the 2015/2016 financial year.
Deputy speaker Erick Otieno said that the problem has been compounded by collusion between former MCAs and contractors who changed service providers randomly and frustrated the projects.
“We are having a big problem in our wards because almost all the projects were not complete despite records indicating otherwise,” said Otieno.
