As the August general election inches closer, a number of prominent journalists have declared interest in vying for parliamentary seats across the country.
Already, a number of scribes have quit their jobs with prominent media houses for the campaign trail.
Here is a list of journalists who will be on the ballot paper come August 8:
Anderson Ojwang
The prominent journalist will be vying for the Karachuonyo parliamentary seat. Ojwang has previously worked with the Standard Media group as a bureau chief in Kisumu and Eldoret.
Kendagor Obadiah
Obadiah previous worked with national broadcaster KBC and Citizen. He will be going for the Kapenguria seat. According to Obadiah, the urge to fight poverty propelled him to vie.
Vitalis Museve
The veteran journalist will be vying for the Webuye West parliamentary seat.
Mohammed Ali
The KTN investigative journalist will be seeking to replace Hezron Awiti as the Nyali MP. He will be vying on an ODM ticket.
David Ohito
Ohito recently resigned as the Standard Media digital editor to concentrate on campaigns. He will be vying for the Ugenya seat.
