Courts remained deserted in Nakuru as lawyers took to the streets to protest the killing of one of their fellow lawyer, Willy Kimani, who was murdered alongside his client and a taxi driver and their bodies dumped in Ol-Ndunyu Sabuk in Matungulu sub-county, Machakos county.
Litigants who turned up in court were referred to the registry to be given new dates of their cases.
Led by their branch Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Chairman Mr Frank Mwangi, the lawyers vowed to boycott courts the whole week in solidarity with their colleagues across the country.
Mwangi said they are not going to sit back and witness such an injustice go unpunished.
"It will be a big shame for us as the civil society, for our fellow lawyer's murder to just go unsolved yet it is us lawyers who work day and night to keep murderers behind bars",said Mwangi.
The Law Society of Kenya called upon security authorities to do something bigger than just arresting three police officers who were at the station the three deceased persons were lastly seen.
