Masinga Dam has started spilling its waters back to River Tana.

Garissa County, Mandera County, and Tana River County are affected.

Loss of lives have been reported in Garissa and Mandera 

21:15: CS for Water Eugene Wamalwa says the government is hard at work to bring the situation under control, asks those in areas that could be affected by the Masinga Dam spillover to move to safer areas.

Bula Shekh, Bula Kasuku, Bula Kamor asked to move to safe areas.

21:00: Deaths reported in Garissa and Mandera due to the ongoing floods, media reports.

16:00: Managing Director of the Tana River Water Services speaks, says that the Masinga Dam waters have surged. Says that the Dam cannot burst as it is fortified. He has clarified that the cause of floods in Garissa and Tana River is not Masinga Dam but rather the eight rivers draining into Tana River.

13:00: Kenya Red Cross says community members in Tana River marooned by the floods, says they need urgent help.
