11: 40 AM: KEBS has admitted that the contraband sugar nabbed had higher copper levels than required.

The parliamentary Trade Committee is set to begin hearing on the importation of contraband sugar. The trade committee chaired by MP Kanini Kega (Kieni) is set to questions officials from KEBs and other relevant bodies.
Cabinet Secretaries Fred Matiang'i, Aden Mohammed and Mwangi Kiunjuri are also set to be summoned.
