Eliud Kipchoge in full flight as he senses a win!

No sign of Mo Farah at that point with Kipchoge increasingly powering away!

Just over four miles to go in the men's elite race and Eliud Kipchoge is just relentlessly powering over the tarmac of central London. Ethiopian Tola Shura Kitata keep pace with Kipchoge but still Kipchoge looks stronger. 

Farah is now way back in third and just about on time to claim that British record.

Mary Keitany, the defending champion puts in a disapointing performance, she finishes five minutes behind Cheruiyot in a time of 02:24:27.

Elite women's race

Brigid Kosgei finishes behind Vivian Cheruiyot to make it a Kenyan one-two.

She clocks 2:20:12 ahead of Tadelech Bekele of Ethiopia.

And we have a winner! - Vivian Cheruiyot (Kenya)

Superb.

After making her marathon debut last year at the age of 33, Cheruiyot has won her first title in London.

And she does it with a massive personal best of 2:18:31.

There's about a mile to go in the women's race.

Leader Vivian Cheruiyot of Kenya looks at her watch and sees she's heading for a sub two hour 20 minute finish.

Mo Farah looks tired all of a sudden, but he remains on course to break the English record in the race. 

Kipchoge still maintains the early pace and looks ever stronger.

Mary Keitany seems to be dropping even further back. She just hasn't been able to maintain that rapid early pace that she started with. 

Vivian Cheruiyot is still out in front and now fellow Kenyan Brigid Kosgei is into second place. 

Cheruiyot is about 30 seconds clear.

The London Marathon 2018 is currently underway in London. 

The Olympic champions are sticking together.

Marathon king Eliud Kipchoge finds track king Mo Farah on his shoulder.

At the moment, they're well within the world record place after the 15 mile mark.

At the 1:15:00 Eliud Kipchoge is leading and Mo Farah follows closely behind

Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya is the Olympic champion and has taken the London title twice before.

He's leading the front pack in the elite men's race, clocking 43:05 minutes at the 15km mark.

Mo Farah joins the party! He's around sixth place at the moment and has managed to recover from his earlier problem at the drinks station.

Elite women's raceTirunesh Dibaba - last year's runner-up - has had to slow down to a walking pace. 

The Ethiopian is really struggling.

And now we have a new leader - Vivian Cheruiyot from Kenya. 

She's given the pacemakers a bit of a shock by rocking up on their heels.
