1:45 pm: President Kenyatta: "Matiba epitomised what Kenya needs to be. He was a caring and considerate man, willing to sacrifice his all to make lives better for others even when he did not have to do so. Kenya will miss him."

                Ruto eulogises Matiba

1:40 pm: DP William Ruto: "I remember when I was in college and the push for multi-party was underway headed by Matiba. It is because of the sacrifice that Matiba made that today many of us have a freer more democratic Kenya."

"Because of a free and democratic Kenya that Matiba and his team fought for, all dreams are valid," DP Ruto.

"What we need is a united Kenya that every citizen will be proud of. We will have justified Matiba and his team's fight for a freer Kenya," DP Ruto. 

1:20 pm: Daniel Gachukia: "Many people will remember Matiba as a meteorite which rose from East and quickly disappeared from the sky."

11: 30 am: Joseph Kibe, Matiba's friend reading his eulogy. Kibe: "Forward ever, backward never’ was Matiba’s mantra. He was always leading from the front and never allowed substandard work."

11:19 am: Raila Odinga not present at Matiba's requiem mass. He has just arrived in Kakamega to give a keynote address on good governance.

11:07 am: Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua, and Barack Muluka among leaders present.

10: 48 am: Deputy President William Ruto and Rachel Ruto arrive at All Saints for Matiba's requiem mass.

10:45 am: President Uhuru Kenyatta, First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, former President Mwai Kibaki, Nasa principals Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula are among top leaders at the Cathedral.
