IEBC can’t hold free elections4:16pm: Raila says IEBC cannot conduct free and fair elections, as long as those officers who bungled the elections are still in office.

1:30pm: Nasa leader Raila Odinga during a press address at Capitol Hill in Nairobi says the government is trying to interfere with the will of the people.

Raila says Jubilee is determined to ensure President Uhuru Kenyatta retains power through illegal means.

1:25pm: IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba captured watching Nasa supporters demonstrate against him outside IEBC headquarters in Nairobi.

Chiloba says he has not thought about resigning.

1:20pm: Anniversary Towers cordoned off by anti-riot police officers who are using teargas to disperse irate Nasa demonstrators.

1:13pm: One Nasa supporter has been seriously injured at University Way in Nairobi as protesters engage police in running battles. The injured has been rushed to hospital.

1:01pm: One person has been arrested by the police near IEBC headquarters.

1:00pm: Senior police offices allow protesters to move near IEBC offices, but not to throw stones or destroy property

12:55pm: Nasa leaders are yet to arrive at the Anniversary Towers for the anti-IEBC protests. Police still using teargas to disperse protesters.

                Babu Owino charged

11:55am: Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili has been charged with two counts of subversion and uttering abusive words against President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He was arrested on Monday.

                24-hour ultimatum

11:50am: Mbadi gives the government 24 hours to reinstate Raila, Kalonzo security, failure to which they will call for mass action.

                 Security withdrawn

11:42am: Mbadi claims Raila's security and that of Kalonzo have been withdrawn. He adds that the government is trying to interfere with their right to picket. The MP claims the state is using Kuria to mobilise Mungiki to cause chaos.

11:40am: ODM chairman John Mbadi claims Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria is planning chaos by mobilising a group of youth to fight Nasa supporters during anti-IEBC demonstrations.

Mbadi claims Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome is well aware of the alleged plan by the Jubilee Party.

"We will exercise our rights without fear of intimidation," - Mbadi.

11:38am: Pockets of demonstrations at Anniversary Towers. Opposition supporters are chanting "Chiloba must go! Chiloba must go!" slogans.

11:20am: Police officers having breakfast outside the Anniversary Towers ahead of anti-IEBC demonstrations.

11:11am: Nasa co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka claims his security detail and that of Raila Odinga has been withdrawn.

10:50am: There is heavy security at the Anniversary Towers in Nairobi where Nasa leaders and supporters are expected to hold peaceful            demonstrations.

10:45am: Kisumu residents have taken anti-IEBC protests to the streets ahead of the main demonstrations in Nairobi.

                  The youth have lit bonfires, barricaded roads and are chanting anti-Chiloba slogans.

The National Super Alliance (Nasa) is today expected to hold peaceful demonstrations against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Nasa leaders on Monday confirmed that the march to Anniversary Towers in Nairobi (IEBC headquarters) will aim at forcing some of the polls body officials to resign for allegedly bungling August 8 elections.

Key among officials targeted is CEO Ezra Chiloba, who the Raila Odinga led camp is accusing of working with Jubilee Party too ensure President Uhuru Kenyatta wins the fresh poll ordered by the Supreme Court.

The court on September 1 nullified Mr Kenyatta's victory. The court said the IEBC did conduct the election as the constitution demands.

Nasa has maintained it will not participate in an election presided over by "tainted officials".
