Crime suspect arrested in the past. [Photo/Standard.]Kisii County residents who will fail to repay the loans they borrowed will be arrested and jailed, Kisii County Co-operatives commissioner Vincent Kenyariri has said.
On Monday, while speaking in Kisii town Kenyariri said the loan defaulters will be hunted down and arraigned in court to be sentenced.
“The defaulters will be blacklisted by the Credit Reference Bureau, CRB, and their names be for forwarded to the cooperatives tribunal for further disciplinary action,” he said.
He urged residents not to borrow loans which they will not be able to settle within the stipulated time.
“Residents should not borrow huge sums of money and later fail to repay. They should borrow what they can be able to repay,” he advised.
