Convener of Kisumu Non Indigenous Peoples’ Forum Audi Ogada said the trend at which some individuals are being appointed at the county without right procedures is worrying.

Speaking at a meeting in Kisumu, Ogada said they have set up a team that will meet county Governor Jack Ranguma in order to chat the way forward and address the issues.

Ogada noted that they are demanding that the county publishes all lists of employees at the county government, so as to know genuine employees.

He noted that the government must be sensitive to the needs of the locals, adding that the appointments must be a true reflection of all residents of the county irrespective of the clan.

Ogada further said that they are worried that the county’s revenue collection is on the decline, yet the county is using a digital collection system.

“The original Kisumu City used to collect Sh800 million per month, but even with the new county government, it has reduced to a worrying level,” said Ogada.
