Briefing journalists at a Nakuru hotel yesterday, Nakuru County Human Rights Network Director David Kuria said that wrangles being witnessed among county leaders will derail development.

The lobby group director asked leaders to stop the wrangles and focus on providing services to the locals.

“We are concerned by the tug-of-war between the Nakuru County Assembly Speaker and some MCAs,” he said.

Kuria said that leaders have the responsibility to ensure that challenges facing the local people are addressed.

The lobby leader gave county speaker Susan Kihika and MCAs seven days to address their grievances failure to which a recall process will be initiated against them.

Kuria said that leaders in the county must know that they represent the interests of the people and therefore conduct their business in order.

The lobby director at the same time told the county government to exercise accountability and utilize the resources allocated to it well.

He said that they will not sit and watch as some county government officials’ embezzle funds meant for development.
