The Nakuru Savvy –Tech Association says that the delay in the ruling of the case is undermining the penetration of internet usage in the county.

Speaking on Friday to members of the association in Nakuru, the chairman, Edward Irungu, said that the ruling should be made without further delay.

“The delay in ruling of the free internet is crippling development on the internet. Internet penetration in our county will depend on how quickly the ruling will be delivered,” said Irungu.

He said that free internet will hasten development and internet penetration in the county.

“Free Wi-Fi will benefit students and people with low incomes. The ruling should be delivered in time to benefit students and others who have no resources to access the internet,” said Daniel Kioko, a member of the association.

Judge Abigael Mshila postponed the ruling after the state counsel Yvonne Khatambi asked the court for more time to file an affidavit to answer allegations of misappropriation of more than Sh200 million intended for free Wi-Fi internet in Nakuru Town.
