Kiambu town MP Jude Njomo has asked residents to support leaders who are development oriented.
The MP who addressed locals at Kiambu town today said that some leaders have failed to perform on their mandate.
He said that such leaders have taken pleasure to engage in activities that do not benefit the people. “I want to ask you (locals) to be observant and know the kind of leaders to support,” he said.
The added that politicians are using their time to engage in wrangles while the people continue to suffer.
He asserted that it is time for leaders to take their roles seriously and work for the people who voted for them.
Njomo said that there should be no compromise when it comes to matters touching on the wellbeing of the people.
The Kiambu legislator appealed to leaders from the region to use the remaining time to address issues facing the locals.
He noted that the period between now and the 2017 General election is nearer and that they will have to work if they want to continue leading the people.
Meanwhile, the MP wants youth in the constituency to support the government in implementing development agenda.
He said that youths have been given opportunity to take part in development, an opportunity he asked them (youths) to use wisely.
The MP though said that unemployment is a big problem, added that appropriate measures are being taken to address it.
