Through Nakuru Town East Residents Association Coordinator Francis Shinali, the residents now accuse Governor Mbugua for undermining public participation process in the county for delaying the signing into law the Public Participation Bill that was passed by the county Assembly.

They questioned why Governor Mbugua was reluctant to sign the Bill into law yet public participation is a constitutional requirement that guarantee citizens to be involved fully in the county's critical decision making process.

"We are now appealing to Governor Mbugua to ensure that he signs into law the public participation Bill into because we fail to understand why he is delaying even after the assembly passed it," said Shinali.

His sentiments were echoed by John Karanu, a member of the Nakuru East Residents Association who said if that is not considered then the Association will petition the County Governnet of Nakuru for an action.

He added that the constitution is very clear on the issue of Public participation and the failure by county Government to sign into law is a hindrance to the whole process.

The two were speaking on Tuesday Morning during a Resident Association Forum held in a hotel in Nakuru.

This comes even after allegations were raised that the county Government of Nakuru embezzled Sh15 million meant for civic education.

The office of the Governor is yet to react on the allegations.
