Speaking to locals on Monday, area Member of County Assembly (MCA) Nelson Munga said that locals have a responsibility to work with the police.

He stated that partnering with law enforcers will curb rising cases of insecurity and ensure a peaceful environment for business.

“My request is to Ndeiya residents to cooperate with security agencies as they strive to promote security,” he said.

The MCA observed that insecurity is a big blame that needs concerted efforts between the public, the police and other stakeholders.

Munga urged security officials to intensify patrols and deal with any criminal elements that may be planning to cause havoc.

He asked locals to be vigilant and report any suspicious acts or individuals to the police for immediate action.

The MCA also asked the youth in the ward to desist from acts that will compromise peace and instead support security initiatives being taken at the grassroots.

He called on the county leadership to initiate forums where young people can be meeting to exchange ideas saying it will help reduce the number of young people engaging in crime.
