41 Youth groups, 82 Women groups and 2 groups belonging to People Living With Disabilities were issued with cheques after submiting their applications for verifications and vetting before qualifying for the funds.

Addressing the public during the disbursement of the funds in Athi River town on Friday, Mavoko Constituency Fund's chairman Bishop Nicholas Muli said that all the groups would receive Sh100,000 each to implement their specific businesses as per their proposal.

Bishop Muli said the amount allocated for the constituency was so little that could not meet high demands of the groups citing that the fund's committee received more than1,500 applications for the funds from the constituents.

He however said that the committee was committed to ensuring that the beneficiaries utilised the money as required and refunded it as per the fund's requirements.

The chairman urged members of the groups to utilise the fund well to make profits, instead of losses for funders to be motivated and allocate more money to the constituency in the next funds allocations.

He called on the residents to register more groups and ensure they meet all requirements needed to qualify to get the funds to benefit in the next disbursement of such funds.

"Please abide by the laws and start paying back the fund after 4 months as stipulated in the law,” said Bishop Muli.
