The locals said the woman known as Moraa was abducted from her home by unknown people at night and she is yet to be found.

“We are living in fear after one of us was abducted by unknown people a week ago. Security officers should beef up security to protect us from a group of gangs that are emerging in the region,” said Timothy Onchera.

According to Onchera, the woman was abducted after she refused to sell her land to a cartel who threatened to kill her.

"The person behind the abduction is well known by police but he has not been arrested yet. Police need to be serious in searching for Moraa and have the cartel arrested to be taken to court because he can’t force people to sell their lands to him,” he noted.

Residents threatened to protest if Moraa will not be found by Wednesday.

“We are planning massive protests starting on Wednesday if the suspects will not free Moraa. Her family need to see her alive. Our MP John Oyioka should intervene and push security officers to intensify search and get Moraa,” said Jackson Monda.

The police after the abduction assured the family that they will ensure they bring the woman back at home and take actions against the abductors.
