The County Government of Uasin Gishu is working on establishing mobile clinics in areas where the distance between health facilities is still a challenge to residents who are seeking health care services.
This according to the County executive in charge of Health Services Evelyn Rotich, will ensure that health care services will easily be accessed by all residents across the County.
Rotich's sentiments come amid the pronounced Government’s key agendas among them, access to health services to wananchi.
She said her department is working towards rolling out an ambulance strategy that will see all County ambulances reach out to the residents in a short duration.
"We're also working on the improvement of the County indicators as well as making sure that we maximize the healthcare systems" added the County Executive.
On his part, Tarakwa Ward representative Patrick Bundotich who also doubles up as the Uasin Gishu County Assembly chair for health services said they are soon going to establish a pilot programme which will see people aged above 70 years and those with chronic diseases covered by the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF).
The two were speaking on Thursday during a meeting funded by Ampath on population health strategic planning.
The meeting brought on board the County Health Management Team and the County Assembly's Health Committee.
