The County Government of Uasin Gishu on Tuesday held a pre-Devolution dialogue at the county headquarters in Eldoret town.

The event comes ahead of the 6th Devolution Conference slated for next month in Kakamega County.

Members of the County Assembly (MCAS) under devolution sector, County officials led by various County Executives (CeCs) and members of public drawn from all the 30 wards saw them fill the county hall.

The event that is held annually as stated by the constitution is aimed at providing a platform between the County residents and the county officials holding various departments to shade light on what has been achieved in the past financial years.

Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno who graced the event called on the county officers in charge of departments to provide their all in serving the public.

Residents on their part appeared pleased in what the administration is doing especially on matters 'making devolution work at the grassroots'.

"We acknowledge what has been done by the County Government but we still need some sectors to be looked at."

"We are continuing seeing what it didn't exist before devolution and it is for this reason that we are lauding the administration of Governor Jackson Mandago for a job well done," said a resident of Langas Ward.

CeCs, Chief Officers and Directors representing the departments of Lands, Housing and Physical Planning, Trade and ICT, Health Services and Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries took on stage to respond to concerns raised by the members of the public on specific issues pertaining the respective departments.
