Athi River residents will receive the largest share of jobs when the construction of the Athi River - Machakos turn off dual carriage way begins.

This was announced by Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua when he met representatives of the China railway 21st Bureau Group company limited the company that has been contracted for the project. 

The representatives were Mr Sun Yingtuan the General Manager, Mr Lin Sung -Assistant Manager and MsConstance Nguli - Human Resource Manager. 

Mutua assured the company that the county will create an enabling environment for the project that aims at decongesting Mombasa road. 

The project was flagged off by the president on October 20 as he headed to Mashujaa celebrations in Machakos Kenyatta stadium.
