There was drama in Kipkaren center on the outskirts of Eldoret town on Tuesday after a comedy event turned chaotic as an acrobat failed to perform as he had promised.
Witnesses who had turned up for the event said drama started when the acrobat promised the audience to enter inside the bottle but after collecting money he threatened to end the show.
The acrobat is said to have asked the audience to drop coins onto the stage for him to proceed with the performance to which they obeyed as they eagerly awaited for him to enter inside the bottle.
It is also said that at some points, the middle-aged man could only perform light exercises and demanded a certain fee to the shock of the audience.
Anne Wangechi who attended the show said, "This man came here at around 4 pm and started performing his magic to which some of us assembled near him, but after a while he threatened to end the performances if we were not going to pay him and some people started dropping coins to the stage as he proceeded," she narrated.
As the show proceeded, the acrobat asked for a final Sh150 for him to enter inside the bottle and as a wind up for the show but after the contributions, he became rude and asked the audience to leave if they wanted to. Furthermore, he said the show had ended to the surprise of many.
On threatening to end the show without performing the last kick, entering inside the bottle, locals who had gathered to witness the performance got charged up and mercilessly beat up the man.
He however narrowly escaped death from the rowdy residence after the intervention of the good samaritans who cooled down the angry locals.
