Lake View Estate Residents Association chairman Edwin Alale has urged residents in the estate to embrace Nyumba Kumi and seek to know their neighbors.
Speaking during a meeting with estate residents on Tuesday, Alale indicated that security will improve if residents take the initiative of knowing their neighbors.
He observed that for the past three months crime has gone down in the estate thanks to community policing.
“I encourage you (residents) to take the initiative and responsibility of knowing your neighbor,” he said.
Alale noted that security is a collective responsibility that should be supported by every citizen. He said the association is working with the police to streamline security.
The chair said that they have partnership with the police has seen various security strategies being implemented.
On the same note, Alale urged youths to partner with them and help fight crime. He asked youths in the area to shun criminal activities and instead work towards development.
Lake View Ward Community Policing chairman Andrew Munila, lauded the resident association urging other areas in the ward to adopt the same.
He said that law enforcers have partnered with the community to fight crime especially robberies.
