Kisii locals have been urged to keep warm as the cold season sets in.
Speaking today, Kisii Health Officer George Omanga has cautioned the locals to keep warm during the cold season to prevent themselves from contracting diseases such as Common Cold and Pneumonia.
He said the cold season is associated with diseases such as Pneumonia and Common Cold and there where increased cases of people suffering from common cold.
“Ensure you put on warmly especially when going out early in the morning and late evening. Ensure also your kids are well protected during this weather,” he said.
He also cautioned bodaboda operators to ensure they put on heavy clothing as they go out to work.
“The operators are most exposed to the threat of contracting cold thus vulnerable. They should ensure they put on warmly during this season,” he added.
He also cautioned parents to monitor their kids against playing in pools of water.
“Children have the tendency of playing along pools of water after rains. Parents should ensure the children are monitored carefully,” cautioned Omanga.
