Locals led by Mr Geoffrey Mogire blamed Mr Ariemba for giving them a deaf ear despite the numerous calls from locals to have the bridge repaired.

"The ward representative should move with speed and ensure that the bridge is repaired. In fact, he should use cash from his own pockets as he awaits the county to refund him," he said.

He argued that the repair will not cost the ward rep even Sh 100,000.

Mr Eric Kiera a trader at Riana market said that customers from the neighbouring Suneka region have not accessed the market for 3 weeks now.

"We have several customers from Suneka area who come to purchase commodities at Riana market. customers are not visiting here because they fear to drown," said Mr Kiera.

He also challenged the area MP Oroo Oyioka to join and help them sort the matter for once and for all for the sake of locals.
