Uasin Gishu residents have been challenged to develop a habit of paying land rates and licencing fees on time.County's Finance and Economic Planing Executive Julius Ruto says this will enable the devolved unit to offer quality services to every local as well as financing other administrative activities."I want to urge residents to develop a habit of paying tax without being followed by our enforcement officers  since the county government cannot work without them paying revenue," Ruto said at the county headquarters in Eldoret town during the launch of the revenue enhancement exercise on Tuesday."For you to get quality service you are supposed to pay your taxes on time," he added. The County Executive further warned residents against evading to pay taxes saying those found will face the full force of the law."I am giving a stern warning to such individuals that they will be arrested and charged for failing to comply with the county’s rules and regulations before operating any business. I also call upon residents to act as our watchdog by reporting any business operating without a permit and promised to take stern actions against them," he noted. The revenue enhancement exercise is meant to sensitize locals up to the ward level on the need to paying taxes.
