Residents of Manga ward in Nyamira County have been warned against using bad ways and shortcuts to enrich themselves.

Enock Okero Ogori area MCA on Monday said it is a big shame for people appointed to serve on committees especially those planning for the burial of the deceased people to steal funeral money.

"I wish to urge members of the public and my entire electorates that they should not use bad ways to acquire wealth. Anyone who steals funds meant for burying the dead, someone going to school or the sick will either be cursed or he or she is bringing curses to his or her future generation in the family,” said the MCA.

He condemned the incident where a man who disappeared with money that was to be used for the burial of one of the residents whose body was to be collected from mortuary on Monday.

The ward representative urged police to search the suspect and take him to court. 

“No more shame in Manga ward. People should use good ways to acquire wealth. I am ready to help locals start small businesses instead of stealing from funerals,” he said.
