Residents of Daraja Mbili Kisii have raised concern over the poor drainage system whenever it rains heavily.
They are worried about a Cholera outbreak if the situation is not addressed soon since all the dirty water from the market floods in the lower regions where some of the residents reside and run their activities.
“It is very risky here especially with children playing in the pool of water as a result of poor drainage. The situation is bad and the county government should address it urgently,” said Duncan Nyakobe.
They blamed the government of sleeping on their jobs.
“The government should have prepared early for this menace. We have raised concern since last year," said Walter Khisa.
"Dirty water from poorly located dumping site finds it's way into people’s homes and businesses, which causes worry and may lead to an an outbreak of the diseases," he said.
They now want the county government to take responsibility.
