Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositay has revealed what should be done to those involved in the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) maize scandal.
The Jubilee legislator said stern actions should be taken against them to act as an example to people with similar behaviors.
“I propose that all those individuals that were involved in the maize scandal be locked up in an isolated room and the keys are thrown in the Indian Ocean since what they have put the farmer to go through is inhuman and uncalled for,” said the Soy legislator in Eldoret town, Tuesday.
“These cartels are heartless, they read from the same script with terrorists, shame on them,” he added.
The first-time MP also called upon the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to conduct thorough investigations on all the people that were involved and those found guilty, stern actions should be taken against them and their assets frozen and forced to refund the money lost.
Kositany further called on President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to intervene so that farmers may be paid their dues that NCPB owes them for maize supplied 4 months ago.
