This move is meant to help in the fight against insecurity in the region.

The area acting deputy county Commissioner Samson Akatch said that a number of criminals take the advantage of these places to hide since no identification document is required from them.

Akatch stated that criminals who are booked in such places do not walk with their identification cards to enable the security officers trace them easily in case of any eventuality.

He warned that no lodging will be allowed to operate without registering the details of their clients, adding that such registers will be copied to the office of the area OCS after every one week for security reasons.

Speaking at Usenge Chief’s camp during public baraza the administrator cited a case of a middle aged lady whose body is still lying at the Bondo district mortuary after committing suicide in one of the lodgings in Bondo town in June this year and she could not be identified since she did not have an ID card.

He therefore warned them to comply with the notice to avoid brushing shoulders with the authority which may lead to closure of their premises.
