The British government has refuted claims that Raila’s recent visit is aimed at him working with the UK administration over something sinister.

The British high commission, through a tweet, dismissed the allegations doing round on social media that Raila is planning with London to stage a coup.

The commission sated that UK supports Kenya’s democracy adding that Raila spoke Catham House on Kenya’s democracy and met some officials and it should not be a source of speculation. The High Commission had termed the meeting as “productive.”

The UK administration has also declared its support for Kenya as preparations for the upcoming presidential elections are picking up.

UK minister for Africa Rory Stewart, who Raila met, also expressed his displeasure over Raila’s withdrawal, urging him to work and ensure that the upcoming election in Kenya is constitutionally done.
