Addressing youth groups on Thursday, the MCA intimated that youths have a role to play in development.

He noted that devolution has opened ways for the youths to take part in matters that touch on development.

“I want to challenge young people to come forward and work with their leaders for development purposes,” said the MCA.

Njoroge also asked the youth, women and persons with disability to apply for government funds.

He said the funds will help them to start business ventures that will in turn improve their living standards.

Njoroge observed that several youth group from the ward have already been given development funds by the county government.

“Youths, women and disabled persons should apply for State funds and improve their living standards,” he added.

The ward representative asked the Nakuru government to put in place more strategies that will gear towards employment creation.

He stated that unemployment remains a big hindrance to eradication of poverty in the county and across the country.
