Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has ordered the transfer and reshuffle of county staff who have served in the same work station for a long period.
Sonko directed the Human Resource Department to redeploy both the senior and junior staff at City Hall who have served in the same department for more than a decade.
Speaking on Wednesday, the county boss said the move will enhance service delivery and fight corruption.
"Some staff have served in the same department for over 15 years and have personalised the departments like their family business," he said, as quoted by The Standard.
Sonko spoke during the induction of his newly sworn-in cabinet executives at Sun 'N' Sand Beach Hotel in Kilifi County.
The county boss further directed the CeCs to declare war on graft in their various dockets.
"The cartels at the Rates Department which target helpless widows who own property in the city must be dismantled," he stated.
