West Pokot senator John Longanyapuo has launched a scathing attack on Tiaty MP Asman Kamama, terming him a ‘poor lad’ who benefited from KANU regime.
Kamama, an ally of DP William Ruto, has been engaging in political duels with independence party by accusing it of neglecting Pokot region.
However, on Wednesday the outspoken senator dismissed Kamama as ‘ungrateful’ creature insisting that former President Daniel Moi uplifted him from poverty.
“Kamama cannot say that KANU did nothing yet he is a beneficiary of the regime. He was a poor lad till Moi offered him a scholarship and subsequently made him a District Officer upon his graduation,” he said.
“He has been rising in political ranks due to foundation set by Moi. I am shocked that he accuses KANU all the times he speaks. He is a good example of ungrateful people,” added Longanyapuo in an interview with The Star.
He however urged Rift Valley residents to back President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017 polls.
