That negative ethnicity almost brought this country to its knees in 2007-08 is common knowledge, and as much as a flawed election was largely to blame for the orgy of violence that followed, hate speech and incitement cannot be overlooked.
It is barely one year to another election and as is the norm, political realignments have began to take shape, most of it being informed by ethnic identity.
The sorry state of affairs is that these events have now shifted from the actual political ground to social media namely; Facebook and Twitter, where supporters and dissidents engage in an all-out-ethnic hatred which could easily trigger actual violence.
The National Cohesion and Integration Commission seems to be moribund when it comes to tracking down hate mongers on social media platforms, otherwise we could be staring at another disaster in waiting.
