The infighting within Jubilee Party in Mombasa has resurfaced and at the centre of it is Suleiman Shahbal, the party's governor aspirant who has been accused of being a bully.
Shahbal's accusers who now prefer his deputy Ananiah Mwaboza to be the party's flag bearer in the gubernatorila race, allege that Shahbal ordered for the defacing of a building painted with Jubilee colours.
Led by Jubilee Party Coast region coordinator Faridah Swaleh, the leaders accused Shahbal of single-handedly setting up a party office in Nyali without consulting. Worse still, they said the Nyali office is not accessible to people from Changamwe and Likoni.
Swaleh said she had been scouting for a party office in Mombasa's CBD for eight months, adding that she finally paid Sh240,000 six-months rent only for Shahbal to order the repainting of the office.
"I am saddened by this act. I am not vying for any political seat in the region, but I have been financing some party activities in the region.
Shahbal has already started war with other members before he is even elected, people are now preferring Ananiah Mwaboza," Swaleh said.
The leaders now say that Shahbal who will taking on Governor Hassan Joho again in the August poll is not a true Jubilee supporter but a spoiler who shouldn't be trusted to fly the party flag.
