Lawyer Miguna Miguna is now on a blacklist circulated to international airlines that operate in Kenya.
An alert from Qatar Airways has made it clear that Immigration authorities issued the order on Wednesday, May 23. This comes barely days after Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko nominated the controversial lawyer as his nominee for deputy.
Miguna has been through a lengthy tussle with senior government officials over his citizenship status. Court orders for Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and Immigration boss Gordon Kihalangwa to adhere and allow him entry bore no fruit.
The Immigration alert that was circulated to Qatar Airways to block Miguna Miguna from traveling to Kenya.
However, the State responded by saying that it would not oblige as he did not file papers to regularize his status.
The Government has maintained its tough stand that the self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general lost his Kenyan citizenship when he applied to be a Canadian.
The latest move is one in a series of several government attempts to keep the fiery lawyer out of the country.
