There is a looming strike for farmers associated to Tombe tea factory over low bonuses that they received this year.

According to some of the farmers they have been paid as low as Shh25 per Kilogram and yet they expected to receive more than Sh50 per kilogram.

According to Tombe Kona Tea buying center Chairperson Edward Nyaosi they have already given all the farmers notices so that they can meet on today so that they can discuss over the same.

“We have already informed the factory management that we need clarification on the bonus payment and we want to see them take action or we strike” he added

He added that after meeting the farmers all the farmers associated with Tombe Tea will hold peaceful demonstration over the same.
