A 78 years woman who had previously been reported missing has been found in Juja farm, Kiambu County and rejoined her family in Gachororo slums.
Priscar Wanjira was reported missing two weeks ago after she went missing from their home in Juja.
According to his son James Kariki, the woman was found in Juja farm area where some women from their area had gone for a wedding ceremony when they notice her in company of a family who had adopted her while they were searching for her real family.
He said that the women informed the family that the woman went missing and was being look for by her family members.
His son said that his mother could not explain how she got to Juja farm as the family of Julius Mutiga who housed her said that they found her early in morning two weeks ago and noted that she had spent her night in the cold and therefore they housed her as they continued to search for her family.
Mutiga said that he had informed the area Chief about the woman who advised him to keep her for some times until they identify where she came from.
He said that the woman did not give the exact place where she was from as she at times talked of Nyeri, Kiambu and Thika which made it very difficult to identify her whereabouts.
“We decided to live with this woman as it was risky for her just staying out without knowing anyone or where she was. The woman said that she came to our area by a Matatu. We are also happy that she has been reunited with her family and we are also happy to have housed her as we have been blessed also,” said Mutiga.
According Kariki, the granny went missing some minutes after they arrived home from church in Ruiru but they did not notice until it was dark.
