A court has recommended that former TV news anchor Louis Otieno be investigated afresh over his role in the death of Careen Chepchumba.
The two are said to heve been friends.
Former Kibera Resident magistrate Charles Ondiek, has recommended that samples of Mr Otieno’s finger nails be taken in the presence of Head of Government Chemist who shall take them immediately after documentation by police.
According to the court, the fresh probe will also include a note Mr Otieno had addressed to Careen’s father that was found in her house warning that the deceased was severely ill.
“That the investigations to include circumstances under which the note addressed to the father of Careen but not delivered and under which the note which was addressed by Careen to the OCPD Kilimani did not reach the target,” the court recommended.
“Regarding the nail clippings indicated as of the suspect Louis Otieno but after analysis found to be from a female, this court can only come to a general conclusion that there was either a deliberate act or an inadvertent mix up,” Mr Ondiek stated.
Otieno who is currently ailing from a hearing condition was acquitted for any involvement in the matter.
