A man in Kimende has been arrested after he allegedly stabbed to death a relative whom he was in love with.
The suspect, David Maara, is said to have carried out the heinous act on Sunday morning.
Confirming the incident on Monday, Lari OCPD Alfred Makoma said that they were alerted by members of the public who had seen the man enter the home where his cousin was employed.
Makoma added that the suspect was arrested near his home early yesterday morning while attempting suicide.
"The man would have hanged himself were it not for our officers who rushed to the scene and stopped him. We took him to hospital for treatment before taking him into custody," he said.
The man is being held at Lari Police Station awaiting to be arraigned in court.
