The Kenya prison services camped in Kisii County early yesterday morning for the recruitment of servicemen and women who will take various positions in the prisons service.
Douglas Nyabiosi is a potential recruit, who spoke at the Gusii green stadium where the exercise is taking place, said that he is expecting to be among the few who will qualify since he has tried several times including the recent Kenya Defence Forces recruitment but in vain.
He said that many of the candidates who do not qualify after several attempts usually give up and fail to turn up for the next recruitment exercises.
The exercise is taking place throughout the country but most areas observed low turnouts of candidates.
The exercise this year has experienced a low turnout in Kisii county as compared to the previous one which experienced a large number of candidates coming out for recruitment.
