Elections Observer Group (ELOG) has released its findings and recommendations over the repeat presidential election.
In their report released on Friday, ELOG said that the process was characterised by generally lower voter turnout but that Jubilee strongholds registered a high turnout.
“While it was indicative that many of the polling stations had opened in time and had the requisite strategic materials, it was also clear from other field reports that in many parts of the country, there was very little activity in respect to opening and voting processes,” the report said.
ELOG attributed the low turnout to the boycott call by NASA leaders as well as insecurity and intimidation.
The group had sent 1,773 field observers in the constituencies.
