The on-going voter registration exercise conducted by IEBC is to end on 15th march yet several people have not turned up for registration.
It has been noticed that IEBC did not properly sensitise the general public and help them aware of the need and importance to register as voters.
Speaking this afternoon at Makina village in Kibera, Danson Odongo said that IEBC has done very little in sensitising the public to turn out and register as voters.
“This time, there were no people from IEBC going round to educate people on the importance of registration like before. I believe this might be the possible reason as to why people have turned out in lesser numbers to register,” said Odongo.
“Some residents see no use in registration because they will not vote simply because they are disappointed in their leaders,’’ he said.
Odongo concluded that many people do not trust IEBC since they do not follow the law when it comes to voting. The officials allow voter rigging and this makes bad leaders the winners of every election.
