Uasin Gishu County Assembly majority leader Josephat Lowoi has blamed CECs for not implementing the bills passed to the letter.
Speaking from his office on Tuesday, Lowoi said despite the county leading in all the 47 counties due to the many bills they have passed, efforts have been shattered due to lack of implementation.
“So far Uasin Gishu County assembly has passed over thirty bills and out of these, only five have been implemented. This is despite them having all the resources showing laxity on the side of the executive,” he said.
He said the assembly is disappointed with the pace at which the bills passed are implemented and that they think someone is sleeping on the job.
“Why should we be passing bills that we know will help the common mwananchi only to find out that they have not been implemented? Governor Mandago should relieve duty his CECs since they are the major cause of delay of putting to action bills passed,” he said.
He challenged the governor to play an oversight role by ensuring CECs implement the bills passed to the letter and should not tolerate laziness since they are tarnishing his development record.
