Speaking at the Uasin Gishu County Assembly on Tuesday, Lowoi termed Ndunda’s statement as malicious, selfish and ill intended, whose aim is to bring down the quality of education.

“Boarding schools are meant to give students conducive environment to undertake their study as compared to their counter parts in day schools, and Ndunda’s sentiments that boarding schools should be closed is ill intended and should apologise to Kenyans,” he said.

He reiterated that boarding schools play a major role in bringing the best out of students, as they have enough time with their teachers for revision, and can always contact their teachers for consultations in case they need clarifications.

“Ndunda should stay mum and leave matters concerning education to its stakeholders, and first of all who elected him? And on whose behalf is he talking,” he added.
