The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) now wants the court to suck ICT CS Joe Mucheru and Interior CS Fred Matiang'i for shutting down three television stations in January.
The society wants the duo held accountable for abusing the power of their offices and acting in a partisan and dictatorial manner.
According to the society, the shutting down of the TV stations showed that the duo violated the oath of office they took to obey, respect and also uphold the Constitution.
"CAK Director, Mucheru and Matiang'i' acted knowingly, deliberately and willfully against the law and in disregard of the constitution, a lawful court order and the sovereign power of the people of Kenya," the petition reads.
The society also said that there was no reasonable justification for shutting down the stations.
LSK also demanded that ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru and Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i are unfit to hold public offices.
KTN, Citizen TV and NTV were shut down by the government for covering the swearing in of Raila in January. The three stations are therefore equally interested in the case.
