Atwoli said the political uneasiness among Luyha leaders was as a result of their failure to make good and timely decisions.

He wondered why some of them were rushing to join the Jubilee government yet the western region had been ignored by previous regimes.

According to the Standard, the Cotu boss said it was wrong for Luhya leaders to join Jubilee when most roads in the region are in poor condition.

"The Luhya community has become an easy target. Our leaders are very easy to dupe. There is no development in the region, but some leaders are coming out and confessing that they are going to join the government," said Atwoli.

He made the remarks when he addressed secretaries general of trade unions registered under Cotu in Kisumu on Monday.

Atwoli at the same time said Luhya leaders had lost political direction.

He said the leaders have failed to put the interests of the community at heart, and instead were blindly joining political outfits for their own gains.
