Three presidential aspirants from Luhya community have agreed to hold joint rallies in a strategy to present a single presidential candidate in 2017 polls from Western Kenya.
Representatives from Amani National Congress, Ford Kenya and UDP have been meeting in Nairobi to agree on how to unite the western community and take the leadership of this country.
“We have held four meetings and we’ve finally agreed the three will hold a breakfast meeting in Nairobi on Tuesday and brief the media on the details,” said the convener of the talks, Charles Werangai.
Werangai said a team that was formed to come up with proper statistics to guide selection of the best possible candidate have already solved many of the issues.
“The general perception has been that Luhyas cannot agree, but, this time round, they will read from the same script,” he added.
Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Cyrus Jirongo will head to Western, to hold joint rallies starting next weekend.
